Miter saw MS1218EL-S

The INFORCE MS1218EL-S is a professional sliding miter saw. It has dual bevel and a laser. The rail mechanism is unusual in that the rails stay put, so the saw can stand right against a wall and save space in the workshop. Table extensions and a clamp are included.

What the electronic brake gives you: the blade stops the moment the saw is switched off. Instead of 10-20 seconds of free rotation, the blade comes to a stop in 2-5 seconds. That sharply reduces the risk of injury from touching the blade after the power is off, when changing the blade or clearing chips. What soft start gives you:

• Greater safety: no jolt at start-up, and a steady start under load. On weak or long extension leads, and on low-voltage supplies, a powerful motor can pull the supply down and cause an overload. Soft start minimizes the inrush current, so the saw starts correctly in those conditions.
• Longer tool life: less wear on the mechanical parts, and less load on the supply and the motor windings.
• Comfortable work: less noise and vibration at start-up.
